On 30 Mar 2012, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had decided to keep the assessment on the safety of Bisphenol-A (BPA) instead of BPA ban in food or packaging, in response to the petition submitted by the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) on 28 Oct 2008.
However, for children items, more than 20 states had already issued varied bills to ban BPA from 2009.
