Egyptian toys and phthalate requirement.

EOS has adopted the mandatory standard ES 7562 for "Restrictions on use of phthalates and their derivatives in toys and childcare articles" (14 pages, in Arabic). This standard is obligated by Ministerial Decree No. 92/2013 and the transitional period is 6 months from 24/2/2013 to 24/8/2013.

Summary :
This Egyptian standard specifies restrictions on marketing and use of certain dangerous substances and preparations of "Phthalates and their derivatives" in toys and childcare articles. This standard is mandatory and complies with Directive 2005/84/EC.

EOS has modified the mandatory standards ES 7093 for "Essential requirements for safety of toys"(20 pages, in Arabic).

Summary :
This Egyptian standard specifies the essential requirements for safety of toys (mechanical and physical properties, flammability and chemical properties, hygiene, electrical properties and radioactivity). This standard complies with Directive 2009/48/EC excluded chemical properties that comply with the old directive 88/378/EEC.
